In this day and age, there has been a huge advance on the LGBT+, and that is thanks to the people who started the LGBT+ movement. So, when and how did it start? Let's find out!

Not so much time ago, there were not many places where LGBT+ people could speak freely about themselves. New York and other cities had laws prohibiting homosexuality in public and many others laws that prevented LGBT people from being free.
In June 28, 1969, in a very popular gay bar in Greenwich Village, New York called the StoneWall Inn, During the early morning, the police raided the bar, but quickly lost control of the situation and the StoneWall riot broke out in response to the police raid. People in the city heard about the demonstration, and soon the customers of the bar were  joined by other gay men and women who started throwing objects at the policemen, while shouting ''gay power''.
For hours, LGBT+ people rioted outside the Stonewall Inn until the police sent a riot-control squad. For days following, demonstrations took place all around the city.
The Stonewall riots inspired people throughout the country to support LGBT+ rights, and within two years after the riots, gay rights groups had been started in nearly every major city in the USA.
